Libby Mattiske, BSc (Hons), PhD, is the Managing Director of Mattiske Consulting Pty Ltd and has managed the consulting business established by herself and Trevor Mattiske since 1979. As a plant ecologist, Dr Mattiske and her team have undertaken extensive studies in the South-west, Goldfields, Wheatbelt, Pilbara and the Kimberleys, as well as other studies interstate and overseas.

These studies have included:
flora and vegetation baseline studies;
vegetation mapping;
rehabilitation monitoring studies;
vegetation monitoring studies; and
training and supervision of various students.

Further, Dr Mattiske has been involved in a range of committees and authorities at the State and Federal Levels - including:
former Council Member on the Australian Heritage Council;
former Deputy Chairman and member of the Western Australian National Parks and Nature Conservation Authority;
former Deputy Chairman and member of the Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority;
former member of the Australian State of the Environment Committee; and
other senior advisory roles.

Dr Mattiske has been working within a range of ecosystems since 1972, initially as a PhD student in South Australia and since 1976 in Western Australia. The ecological studies have been undertaken as a research officer with the former Forests Department (1976 to 1979) and then as a consultant with E. M. Mattiske and Associates (1979 to 1994) and more recently with Mattiske Consulting Pty Ltd (1994 to present).

Dr Mattiske and her team actively undertake a range of flora, vegetation and ecological studies.
